Install Process

The homeowner of this three-floor townhouse opted to take on the installation of the Wunda Rapid Response® underfloor heating system themselves, with the assistance of a professional installer. The system was successfully installed throughout the entire townhouse.

After laying the underfloor heating boards and installing the pipes, a thin layer of levelling compound was applied on top, preparing the surface for the LVT floor finish chosen by the homeowner.

Final Floor Finish

To prepare the Wunda Rapid Response® boards for LVT flooring a self levelling compound had to be poured over the top. Different floor finishes have different installation requirements. Some can be floating and don’t need to be stuck down, for instance wood or engineered wood. Others such as LVT require a thin levelling compound to be poured first due to how thin the flooring is. Tiles can be stuck directly to the board (it is approved by leading tiling manufacturers).
