Vinyl and LVT (luxury vinyl tiles) Flooring with Underfloor Heating

Vinyl and LVT flooring work well with Wunda underfloor heating systems and are becoming increasingly popular. It’s important to always check with your supplier that the flooring you choose works with underfloor heating. Some vinyl and LVT flooring need to be limited to a maximum floor temperature of 27 degrees. This will be done by the floor probe that is supplied for each zone that uses this type of flooring. Installing Underfloor Heating with Vinyl Flooring

When installing Vinyl or LVT floor on top the Wunda Rapid Response® system you will first need to prime the boards with an approved primer and then pour a thin layer of levelling compound (5-10mm) on top of the pipes and panel. Then install the floor finish on top of that.

This is necessary since LVT and vinyl finishes are often quite thin.

While the levelling compound or primer is not provided by Wunda, it can be sourced from local merchants or online.

The approved compounds are:

‘Ultra level it TWO’, when primed using ‘Ultra prime it multi surface primer’.
‘Mapei Ultraplan Renovation Screed’ when primed with ‘Mapei Eco Prim Grip’
